Aziz Nurbekov is as an agronomist at the ICARDA-CAC office in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, where he has been leading several projects of FAO, IFAD and ADB focusing on issues related to drought and salinity management. He holds an M.Sc. (Agronomy) from Samarkand Agricultural Institute and a Ph.D. (Plant Breeding and Seed Production) from the Gallyaral Branch of the Uzbek Research Institute for Irrigated Cereal and Legume Crops. Aziz has extensive experience with teaching and applied agronomic training in several different positions, including as Professor at Tashkent State Agrarian University.
