Flavio Breseghello is Director of the Global Wheat Program at the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) in México. He holds B.Sc. (Agronomy) and M.Sc. (Plant Breeding) degrees from the Universidade Federal de Goiás (Brazil) and a Ph.D. in Plant Breeding and Genetics from Cornell University (New York, USA). Flavio has held scientific roles as rice breeder, germplasm curator, and data manager and has also considerable experience in institutional management leading to his his current role at CIMMYT. As Director of the Global Wheat Program at CIMMYT, he is committed to fostering training and development of young scientists in all facets of the agricultural sciences.
