Dr. Fred Cholick

Fred Cholick is an independent consultant and former President of the Borlaug Training Foundation. He holds a B.Sc. from Oregon State University and M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in plant breeding and genetics from Colorado State University. Fred led an extremely successful spring wheat breeding program at South Dakota State University and then moved into administrative and leadership roles at South Dakota State University, Kansas State University, and the Kansas State University Foundation. As one of the original founders of the Borlaug Training Foundation, Fred has demonstrated a very strong commitment to training and mentoring young agricultural scientists.
