Jeanie Borlaug Laube is the Chair of the Borlaug Global Rust Initiative (BGRI). She holds a B.Sc. from the University of Kansas and an M.Sc. from Texas A&M University in Spanish Language and Literature and spent many years as a secondary school Spanish teacher. Jeanie has been a strong advocate for global food security and has demonstrated her passion for helping young scientists by establishing both the Women in Triticum and the Mentor Awards which are granted annually by the BGRI.
